How are you handing it to them and how should they return it to you?

If it's one of my ones that has a weird opening style, I'll open it and hand it to them handle-first, probably expect it to be returned in the same way.

Like, my karambit is fucking weird to open and to close, it's simplest if I do it.

Depends on context. If they just need it for later, closed. If we're cutting ropes, just give it to them handle first.
