Yea same here. ARR is the worst part of the game and most of your moves got to be unlocked. Even if you get there it still sucks because of the level cap in those dungeons.

the game tests our skill and our patience at the same time.

supposed to attack when there's an opening and learn to avoid attacks or else they laugh at our misfortune.

The bosses are Dark Souls 2's problem. They are so darn generic and cheap.

Yeah, this. Both have good intro chapters and both don't take too long getting moving and keeping the pace going. Rebirth you can kind of cuck your pacing if you stop to do every little thing as soon as it's available but even so

Can't think of a game that's actually like this. Not even one.

If a game isn't vibing with you after the first 10-20 hours, you're forcing yourself to play it. Nothing says you HAVE to play it, either. At least with reference to longer games.

For shorter games that are around 30-60 hours to complete I'd say if the intro doesn't compel you to keep going, it is fair to drop it (so 3-4 hours at most maybe).

Again, if you don't like a game, nobody is forcing you to play it. And playing it longer is not going to suddenly make it better. LITERALLY NO GAME gets "better" half way to three quarters of the way through.

Even MMOs.

Sometimes this can be legit.

MGSV TPP, for example, was worth 150 or so "meh" hours for that one mission.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
