Conversely, looking at your backlog, you haven't explored the PC much. You can equally argue that spending $1000~2000 on a perfectly adequate PC now is significantly superior to getting a PS5 or an XSex. For one thing, they do far more than what any consoles can do, for another, there's never an issue with backlog or shortage of future games. They can also just outperform the PS5/XSex, and they basically will for the entire duration of their lifecycle.

So why don't the PS/Xbox brand pull out consoles that are also $1000~2000 to compete with the PCs?

See, like you're conveniently leaving out the value of niches that Nintendo consoles give that made the Switch sell well despite the misgivings that many people have mentioned throughout this shit thread. The logic goes, when something consistently sells well, and people keep wanting the next iteration, it's doing more things right than it does wrong, but for you personally, you think everything is wrong.

You'll buy the next console anyways, so why should they fulfill all of your demands, even if it means it potentially ruins their niche and more people may dislike how the cost of things have risen and the time of development further pushed back?

You won't mention how the Switch had a very steady stream of releases throughout its entire life, whereas development time for other consoles for their major titles have gone up even more years now, often announcing things that will release a year or two later.

To make it even worse, they may not even be good games after waiting years for them .

This. These guys need to finally grow up and stop crying over Nintendo, it doesn't make them men and it doesn't even make any sense.

There will be many hundreds of PS4 games released this year which is what the switch 2 will be comparable to. Sony has no games made by them that will be ready for PS5 until at least March 2025. Call PS4 outdated, but it still gets the lion share of games. No third party will have any excuse anymore with switch 2. If they do, then they need to be honest and just say they cant compete with Nintendo. If thats true, then Nintendo shouldnt change to follow other companies doing worse than them.

They never could compete either. Look at the first party Switch games, they're the ones that have good graphics and are mostly non buggy on the Switch. Pretty much Pokmon is low effort and not much in Nintendo's control. Third party devs need to make a more compelling game on Nintendo consoles because the standard is not unfinished games that require several patches or years of reworking. It's worth it too, with the large userbase. It's funny Activision apparently realized this a few years ago hence them getting cozy on development for the Switch successor in 2021.

They go on sale. And when not on sale, cost the same price that it usually does on steam Plus, easier to take around and play on the go with a switch I can easily play my switch at work. The laptop would be harder Plus, the battery life I think the trade-off is worth it. Its not the same for everyone, though

Let guys like this cry and send them a link to Switch software sales charts.
It's not the end of the world, but we can see it from here.
