It all comes from Famiboards and ResetEra and from people who found this all out by looking into publicly available hardware shipment/customs information. Not sure if it's TOS friendly to link there since so many people on this site seem to have an issue with RA, but anyway:

  • Two new Joy-Con models and a new dock (no shit) with an ethernet port
  • Tegra T239-based SoC capable of DLSS upscaling
  • NVIDIA Ampere-based GPU with some features backported from their Ada/Lovelace architecture
  • 1536 CUDA Cores, 48 tensor cores, 12 RT cores,
  • 12GB LPDDR5 RAM (two 6GB chips)
  • 256GB (UFS 3.1) built-in storage
  • Built-in microphone
  • Handheld performance (on-paper) slightly superior to a standard PS4
  • Docked performance (on-paper) in between a PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S

can we finally get 60fps zelda
Can we get joycons that are designed for fas hands
You'd think screen resolution would be a spec.

Or how about ones that don't break just because you used them a bit?

I hope load times don't suck still
Wonder if we can communicate with random people finally online without jumping through hoops. No one uses that stupid phone option.

A more powerful switch is just about all I wanted from a successor tbh.

The type of memory they're using this time around is significantly faster than what was used in the original Switch

This is the only thing that sounds really not great here. 1tb should be the standard.

Why though? Considering Switch games were all on the cart storage was never an issue.

As long as it will be able to play the Zelda games in a consistent 60fps, I'll be happy then.

will it finally beat ps3 graphics from 18 years ago?
On-paper it's going to be (comparatively) one small step down from an Xbox Series S, though with DLSS being the ace up its sleeve.

Not super thrilled about performance matching what will be 9-year-old hardware by the time of the Switch 2's release. How long this time before the games start feeling again like they're too much for the console to handle?
Let's hope the joycons are more durable.

Not seeing a point. I already made the concession of less power when I got a Switch, in exchange for the convenience of mobility, and exclusives. More power on the underpowered device, only for it to still be the underpowered device, seems pointless.

Because consoles tend to get discounted after a set time frame and companies are always making new systems? How have you gone this long not knowing this?

Digital games. I buy as many physical games on the Switch that I can, mostly first party. But the indie games are mostly digital due to limited physical release. Those add up.

Its called an SD card then.

Will it be able to use Switch 1 game carts?

Still sounds too weak for me to worry with.

Or they could put 1 tb of space in the console and you'd never have to buy an SD card lol

Sure, just like the other consoles. Dunno why you're happy with less space out the box.

Did you really just ask "Why are they making an upgraded version of their console that sold extremely well"

Is that a real question
I beat Call of Duty 4. In one day.
WHAT UP!
Considering Nintendo have a history of shutting down their stores making it impossible to download previously purchased games forcing you to pay for them again SD cards are a must to make sure you never lose access to games you've paid your hard worked money for.

Ok I have to question why people are expecting current gen performance from something that's gonna be less than a quarter of the size of a PS5.

Ever since they moved to portable/hybrid Nintendo has never been about the performance.

Not trolling, how were the PSP graphics/performance compared to the consoles at that time? (PS2/xbox)
The PSP was a really mixed bag. At its worst games looked like a step down from the Dreamcast and at its best games looked on-par with earlier PS2 games. If you've never gotten into the PSP I really recommend getting one (or a Vita).

A good proportion of the people criticizing the specs probably have no intention of playing Switch 2.

No, you should be able to tell, from context, that I'm speaking in a technical sense, not a financial sense.

You can no longer purchase games from their shut down digital stores, but you can still redownload previously purchased games from them.

The switch was underpowered on release. Its been 7 years since then.

From a technical sense this makes the most sense by far

It's still an upgrade meaning games on the new console will be better than ones on the switch. That's still a win. If your only criticism is "it doesn't have the same power as a console the size of a suitcase" then yeah you are right but that's not why I bought a switch. I bought a switch for the games and haven't been disappointed. If power if your number one requirement get a PC.

You can still download the games you purchased through the eshop, you can't just buy things there anymore.

I'm still salty at that topic from earlier in the year where me and another dude argued profusely that the Switch 2 was going to gamble on DLSS with shockingly subpar specs. We got laughed out.

If this turns out to be true, lmao.
