Can't believe it's 10 years old. Didn't think I'd be waxing nostalgic but then the theme song hit and I just flashed back to a better time in my life >_>

Toby Stephens the GOAT.

It's great. I liked it because it has the fictional pirates (Flint and Silver) and the historical pirates (Vane, Blackbeard, Rackam).
I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me-
Made it to season 2. God I love Jack Rackham in this

I need to rewatch it, one of my all time favorite shows.

Such a great show.
Furthermore, The GOP is a Fascist Organization and must be destroyed
It's in my rotation. Fringe, Deadwood, Black Sails, Community, Xfiles.
Criminally underrated show.
great show hated that it ended
It started incredibly strong. The finale of season 2 is one of the coolest episodes of television I've ever seen. Sadly, for me, the last season or two kinda fell apart as it was forced to pivot and adjust to "become" Treasure Island without actually getting to tell the coolest parts of the story of Treasure Island.

Yes! Even when it was airing it felt like it mostly flew under the radar.

Just finished season 2. Watching Silver's evolution is crazy. Has his "will nobody rid me of this turbulent priest?" moment where he realizes the kind of power he has over people, his motivations having turned from a simple "get one big prize and get-out" to more grand and ambitious. Seeing him become "Long John" Silver is sooooo good. >_>

Gosh. It felt like so much happened in that one episode. And the effects for the actions were great. Make me wish that big budget pirate media wasn't such a rarity.

Maaaan I remember the pre-premiere trailers hyping the arrival of Blackbeard and then being disappointed when he's basically just...there.

The doldrums arc for Flint/Silver was brutal, kind of neat how many lore bits from Treasure Island they managed to squeeze into the island though. >_>

Toby Stephens looked so much cooler with that glorious pony tail. I get he had his little darker, edgier, villain turn at the end of season 2 and wanted a physical change to represent it but come on, such a waste to shave his head T_T

"My name's John Silver, and I've got a long fucking memory."

"Get on with it, motherfucker."

One of my favorite shows. I'll kill to have that cast make a rendition of Treasure Island.
I powered through S1 of Black Sails cause I went in blind and expected a different kind of "pirate show". It was slow, for me, in S1 and I almost dropped it. I gave it 3 episodes of S2 and I was going to drop it. S2 became what I was looking for in a "pirate show" so then I got hooked.
Why is it that the world can't spell "lose" or "woman" right???
