You should take any win that you can get. CIIIs are way less restrictive and indicates a shift. You couldnt even get a prescription for CIs at your local pharmacy. CIIs were extremely restrictive. CIIIs let you get refills and can be transferred once. Also, many doctors require you to have another visit before getting another CII prescription but that doesnt seem to be the case for CIIIs. To top it all off, the drug can keep moving categories in the future.

Dont get angry about not getting exactly what you want.

The majority of maintenance CII scripts are amphetamines and most doctors nowadays write three one month scripts at a time and add do not fill before dates. CIII's actually seem to be way more strictly handled, ie Suboxone, hormone treatments, etc

Fun fact - most people are aware cocaine is a schedule 2 anesthetic and opium tincture is used to stop diarrhea, but methamphetamine is also schedule 2. I've never seen it prescribed but it does happen.
