Its hilarious that they took a real life occurence (Hermit crabs using objects it finds for shelter/protection)

and made a whole ass combat system around it X)

Its Souls-like def. Battle system relies on learning enemy movements/patterns, and finding the best time to dive in and hit them and get out without taking damage. Enemies hit pretty damn hard. You level up and enemeis respawn at prye-like areas. Very exploration-based.

The difference is that the movement and exploration is more geared towards something like Banjo.

i prolly just have stricter criteria than most for what constitutes soulslike, cuz almost every game ppl call a soulslike ends up not doing it for me

Yeah its def a souls like. But its not quite as unforgiving as other Souls like. Like you can freely respawn if yo die at enemy bosses for example.
