I still had to go to work every day since we provide medical supplies for people so we were considered essential workers. The nature of my job meant I could not work from home. I didnt get sick at all.

Worked. Prison is considered essential and it was going good at first since its a controlled environment but once covid did make it through those gates it was hell.

Worked.

I wouldn't even consider my job an essential one. We just wore masks, checked temps upon entry, and implemented a few other safety precautions. Some people got sick, including myself. Other than that it was pretty normal.

One cool thing was they removed the clock in/out stations to avoid people crowding together. They also didn't allow us to be in the area when the next shift took over from us. So, I would end up leaving 40 minutes early and getting paid for it all. I'd be home before the next shift technically started. It was one of the few cool things.

It both ruined my plans and yet also came up at the most opportune moment. Had just finished a major project at work and was finally negotiating with the boss to use up all my accumulated vacation days... and then bam March hit.

Used that time to get some exercise and basically played Breath of the Wild day and night. While so many around me and on social media were posting about how bored they were and how there's nothing to do, I was laughing in video games. It's funny just how immersive video games could be, you could be playing for 6 hours and barely feel more than 30 minutes had gone by. So many people don't realize this or just have no interest in video games. All things considered I had a nice staycation.

Can't believe it's been 4 years. Everyone else has long since moved on though, covid is little more than a blip on their radar or memory. Life goes on.

So did I! It was released about lockdown time.
My work moved to work from home. I was able to spend a lot more time with family. Over the last six months my work is hell bent on getting people back in the office and making our lives miserable

Working.

The only time I didn't work during the lockdown was for the 4-5 weeks I was unemployed between jobs.

Worked 20-25 hours a week because there was less to do, collected some nice unemployment checks, learned how to solve a rubric cube and cut my own hair (which I still do), and generally enjoyed the extra time I had to myself.
Probably the only Mario Maker 2 level I'll ever create worth sharing.

Its amazing to me that so many people saw it as some kind of punishment instead of using the opportunity to learn how to entertain themselves in other ways besides going out. Talk about a squandered opportunity.

Shplendid!
Took some time off.

Went to the park just about everyday and learned to get decent at basketball and get in shape. It was a good time.
Sigs are for losers.
While I'm personally glad some food joints stayed open I never got them being considered essential. They are a convenience.

That said my tips became rather large when I did order pizza. I was giving like 50% tips sometimes 100% because all I carried was 20s lol. Pizza places around here loved me for awhile I'd get my pizzas asap.

Sometimes wonder if caused any arguing between delivery drivers over who was gonna deliver to me. Seems like they took turns cause I don't recall getting the same person twice
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process
I worked from home and spent my free time going on walks around the lakes near my house. The only places I went to were the liquor store and the dispensary. Groceries were either delivered or I did curbside pickup. Occasionally I would order food from DoorDash or UberEats.

Pretty accurate, not gonna lie
'We're not gonna make it, are we? People i mean.'
'It's in your nature to destroy yourselves.'
I live in regional Western Australia. Besides our borders being closed for two years, I never experienced a lockdown.
The capital city, Perth, had two short lockdowns to contain an outbreak.
It wasnt until early 2022 that to started getting a lot of infections, but by that time almost everyone had been vaccinated, so it wasn't as big of an issue. Not long after that the borders were opened because there was no point having them closed anymore.
Fact: Nintendo is the best, there is no point denying it.

Heck, it's not even just about entertaining themselves, since I know some people will simply never like video games regardless if it makes sense or not. It's also about finally having the freedom to work on yourself, admittedly if you're lucky enough to have the means and opportunity.

Like I finally learned to cook, really cook. I'm embarrassed that I've just been ordering food or had it already prepared in easy containers all my life, and the pandemic got me to cook. And I discovered that not only did I love it, I was good at it. Felt like a missing piece I found.

So between exercise and preparing meals and cooking meals and playing games and chatting with people, there was never a single second where I was bored.

But yeah I sometimes wonder how these people who were supposedly so bored still hadn't deigned to try video games, despite games being way more ubiquitous than they were even just 20 years ago. The interactive and engaging nature of video games could make hours seemingly pass by in the blink of an eye.

I was an essential worker, so other then the addition of n95 masks and hand sanitizer, my work day didn't really change. Though obviously with everyone staying home there was obviously a large decrease in the need for automotive work so there was a substantial increase in just sitting on my ass rather then doing actual work.
Shaved my commute in half due to no one being on the roads so I could drive like 90mph
