Heck, it's not even just about entertaining themselves, since I know some people will simply never like video games regardless if it makes sense or not. It's also about finally having the freedom to work on yourself, admittedly
if
you're lucky enough to have the means and opportunity.
Like I finally learned to cook, really cook. I'm embarrassed that I've just been ordering food or had it already prepared in easy containers all my life, and the pandemic got me to cook. And I discovered that not only did I love it, I was good at it. Felt like a missing piece I found.
So between exercise and preparing meals and cooking meals and playing games and chatting with people, there was never a single second where I was bored.
But yeah I sometimes wonder how these people who were supposedly so bored still hadn't deigned to try video games, despite games being way more ubiquitous than they were even just 20 years ago. The interactive and engaging nature of video games could make hours seemingly pass by in the blink of an eye.
