Nah, I buy their explanation. They certainly don't have an iffy post history. I just feel like blaming CE isn't the answer, here, since "Poor X" is a known meme that is 99% used to devalue the person, and so more tact needs to be used, because it obviously elicits a certain response.

Yeah I agree. He absolutely needed to explain it but when he did it made sense.
I don't think anyone here really read it the way he intended.
