Wouldn't this have been the first one held by Microsoft? Maybe Microsoft just doesn't want to do it, period. I wouldn't be surprised if it never comes back. They might just be saying it will, right now to avoid panic

It's most likely because they're not working on anything substantial due to the massive restructuring and layoffs. Like idk what they'd show some skins for games people don't even like anymore lol

They said they're doing different shows and such to celebrate their 30 year anniversary. That's probably where the Blizzcon budget is going this year.

I think they may try to just make a Microsoft event and include it, but I guess it makes sense to cancel it since there's not much in the pipeline other than the new WoW xpac. OW2 has nothing new going on, Hearthstone is the same shit over and over, and they haven't done shit with Starcraft in like a decade now. Guess they could do something for Warcraft in general, since it's like a 25 or 30 year anniversary or something.

yeah I dont really think theyd have much to show. WoWs next xpac is dropping this year so they wouldnt have anything major to cover there besides content patches. Diablo 4..I cant see an expansion announcement being received well any time this year. And the current OW team probably wants nothing to do with live fan discussions

But what would they show? War Within will release before Blizzcon. They probably don't want to discuss the other xpacs because it'd spoil what happens in the first of them.

That's my guess. If I recall the last Blizzcon was the first that did not sell out. My guess is that it doesn't make money unless it sells out.

I think it depends on the convention. I know its not video games, but the big anime convention in LA was insane last year. I remember seeing this crazy video of the large entrance lobby being packed. Probably the biggest fire hazard I've ever seen.

I thought WoW fans went insane (in a good way) last year. They brought back the Warcraft god, Metzen and revealed Warcraft's equivalent of the MCU Infinity Saga. Announcing a 3 expansion long story line
