Smt apocalypse had a few mid bosses that will wreck your shit before you even fight the main boss for that dungeon, usually immediately after that fight too.
So if your demons died before then, you'll be extra fucked by the time you fight that boss

I'm told Final Fantasy Tactics is great. It will be ever one or near number one on my hated games list because of him.

If you didn't want the Leo Ring you could at least kill Ornstein first, as 'super' Smough was the easier of the two. Otherwise, yeah, you really needed to practice your spacing and coax the AI into using specific moves when possible.

Yeah, FFT does some messed up things. IIRC my character also had one of the unusual Zodiac interactions with Wiegraff, so it was double BS in my case. These days at least you have guides that spell out all the BS moments ahead of time and how to bypass it.

If you don't cheese him with the Alucard Shield it is possible to have a fair, if boring, fight with the Moon Rod. It basically involves fifteen minutes of sending crescent projectiles towards his face from the platforms on the side of the arena.

Super Metroid's toughest bosses (Phantoon and Draygon) are in the middle of the game. Draygon of course can be quickly dealt with via the Grapple Beam trick, but he's pretty tough if you want to fight him 'fair.'

Similar case with Yakuza and Nightmare arguably being the toughest bosses in Metroid Fusion.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.

Once you finally got good and scraped past cerberus, then agni and rudra kicks your half-demon ass in a few hours later.

Capcom really had it out for us north american gamers for the original devil at cry 3.

What made it rough was capcom made japanese hard mode our north american normal, and since DMC 3 was brand new cerb was hitting NA players like a goddamn bus, lmao. So many topics was created asking why it was so hard before everyone found out the north smerican version was cranked up a notch.
