Not ones that are long because of many phases (unless the phases are just samey as hell) but ones where the stupid bastard just doesn't know when to die.

You mean like the ones with an overly long health bar that barely seems to go down? Yeah I dislike those so much that I actively try to avoid games like that, so no examples really come to mind.

The tanks and copters were bad enough but then when you get up to the custom versions of the AI ones, I mean... Whatever they were made of was CLEARLY not of this world.

That one's kind of a borderline case. It's got like 19 phases but several of them are almost or even actually identical.

The longest ones for me were stone ocean 4 final boss, arc the lad 3s final boss and grandia 3s final boss. All took me near or over a hour to beat.

What's crazy is that the boss fight is perfectly doable with good elemental defense, UNLESS you can't live the slash.
