Actually the "absurd" part was Dude predicting that scenario as possibility. The example comes from Dudes fallacious argument that teaching your kids not to microwave eggs is some common discussion a parent will have with their kids. And having said discussion will guarantee a child to totally be averse to all potentially hazardous actions. Most of us had talks about drugs in general and still how many here can say they never tried them?

That's the point. Many of the things we're discussing are things no one actually thinks will happen. We can't even conceive of some of the things our kids will unfortunately participate in. Yet, every year we hear the same kind of story we have since before I was born.
