Unfortunately sometimes when faced with the realities of life under the current state of capitalism, some minds turn towards conspiracy instead of consciousness. Sounds like this guy fell into that category.

Leftist believe Covid was a government created event?
The idea (or umbrella of related ideas) that Covid is a global governmental conspiracy designed to foster dependence and compliance within the general population is itself reactionary, but its one that at least a few self-proclaimed leftists subscribe to. Jimmy Dore and his ilk come to mind.
I would say if anything the
real
leftist conspiracy regarding Covid is that health organizations like the CDC ignored actual data and safety recommendations from science and medical experts in favor of appeasing the capitalist fears of economic collapse, resulting in national policies (relaxing of stay-at-home orders, reduction of quarantining restrictions, loosening of masking requirements) that caused an excessive number of preventable deaths.
