this happened a bunch too. There was always a few preps that could fight but for the most part they were just asking for beating half the time. Especially when alcohol got involved and they got liquid courage but still didnt seem to register they were starting a fight lol

Used to love that book and movie. It would really be strange seeing it as an adult now. I don't remember the movie being particularly violent but it was so long ago heh I definitely remember it was about gangs though and I think it had a somber ending.

We watched the movie at school after reading the book together as a class in 7th grade. Kind of an odd choice looking back it at now.

Never read The Outsiders although I did read a book called "That Was Then, This is Now" which is written by S.E. Hinton and takes place in the same world as The Outsiders.

It was probably one of my favourite books I had to read in school.

Huh that's interesting to know acab. I remember choosing to read the book in Middle School and then rented the movie from the supermarket afterwards

It was probably one of my favourite books I had to read in school.

That was made into a movie too though it doesnt have near the success The Outsiders did. Emilio Estevez was in another S.E. Hinton movie in 1982 called Tex, read the book to That Was Then, This is Now and liked it so much bought the film rights to it and made the movie in 1985.

The class was split up into 3 groups and everyone had to read either The Outsiders, Tex or That Was Then, This Is Now.

All 3 books were written by the same woman and had similar characters and themes.

Loved both of the books, I think there may have been one or two others in that universe

I also recall reading one of her more recent books (looked it up just now and it came out 20 years ago lol), Hawkes Harbor. Was very surprised to find out it involved a damn vampire >_>
