I was going to counter with the hate on country, but the tone
is
consistently different in how people express disdain for one genre vs the other.
Id agree that country is unfairly generalized and hated because of mainstream shitty pop country, but as you said, the tone is absolutely different a lot of the time when it comes to shitting on rap as a genre.
People will regularly blame rap for societal problems, drug use, etc, while saying its all the same and a net negative for the world. Its pretty telling at times.
