If it wasnt for archival efforts from the community, so much content would be lost to time, and some still may be. While theres no indication of any of the associated YouTube channels going down, theres plenty of site-only videos, especially FIRST videos.

Some of the podcasts have indicated they want to continue doing what theyre doing post-closure, though I believe its still unknown (even to them) whether theyll somehow be able to keep their old name, or if there will be a new one.

I genuinely never got the appeal of these guys. The Halo videos were boring as fuck and the anime was just ugly to look at

I liked Red Vs Blue. RWBY started to look better around Volume 4 but the fight animation was generally worse, which I felt was the main draw. Couldnt really help that though, Monty Oums choreography was amazing.

They deserved this, they truly earned this wet fart of an ending for that company with all the arrogance and incompetence they spewed. I only hope that when RWBY goes up for sail the person who buys it completely retools it into a fun show with fun characters and absolutely nobody from the previous era gets any say in any of it if there's one person from RT they have to have let it be Penny's VA she's never done anything wrong and plays with fishes in her free time

End of an era, even though I'm not as big a Roosterteeth fan as I used to be. I had been watching them since I think RvB was 3 seasons long? Their part in Halo 3 is gonna hit different every time I play that campaign again. I went to two RTX's and had a lot of fun both years I went there. Particularly the live podcast which I almost didn't make it into with how big the line was.

Speaking of big lines I was once in line for Monty Oum's autograph and they cut us off one guy in front of me, and he passed away before next year's RTX. His memorial-esque section at the next RTX I went to bummed me out, and I still stuck with RWBY even after his passing. I stopped watching Achievement Hunter stuff after Ray left, so after that it was just RWBY for me.

I've also driven by their old HQ here in Austin, since I've lived here most of my life. Like when I'd watch RTAA, listen to their podcast, or other things I'd always have to do a double take when I realize that I know the places where they're hanging out or talking about. Still kinda never felt like they were so close by me.

I thought some of those were at least amusing, even if I frequently felt like they missed something important or stacked the deck wrong.

Like in Wolverine vs Batman where Batman literally lost because he didn't know Wolverine regenerates. Uh... the very first thing to know about Batman is that he does his homework. How's he gonna miss THAT detail?

Or in Link vs Cloud, where Link interrupts Omnislash, which to my knowledge has always either been turn-based or had super armor. That one was also >_> when they justified giving Link high-level stuff and Cloud literally the equipment he starts the game with, on grounds that they gave each their "most iconic" gear.

But anyway, it was fun to watch regardless.

Yeah, their sense of humor was what I liked about Death Battle. I'm probably being too hard on them with the win decisions. There's just too much content and no author consistency.

Red vs Blue... wow I remember still when I was introduced to that back in 2005 and distinctly remember the episode with Caboose being asked what he sees when looking through a window, only to point out he sees walls and a ceiling. I never watched it much beyond my friend showing it to me one time until I randomly remembered it in 2010 during college when Revelation was the latest series at the time. Followed it for a bit since then. Damn that series had some fun history to it but I haven't followed the latest seasons after Shizno Paradox, if there were any, and whilst I actually rather enjoyed the very last season of that arc wasn't crazy about the rest of it. I think the last time I truly followed Red vs Blue week to week instead of binging it later when I remembered was the Chorus trilogy.

As for RWBY, it's so dark and depressing I stopped caring and never watched the latest season, which sucks because I quite enjoyed watching it starting out. I think Season 6 and a single episode of a later one "Midnight" was the last I actually truly enjoyed watching RWBY :(

But yah, I've heard of the issues with the company even if I haven't been following as closely so I kinda saw the writing on the wall here already. Gonna miss Red vs Blue.

I'm seeing some people say they 'deserve' it, and while I kinda get it, I also think some things were beyond their control. They lost some important talent, Monty, Ray, Ryan (he was good when he was there), Jeremy Dooley, Burnie. Their replacements just weren't up to snuff, and the criticisms of them were often lumped together with general haters, or worse, racists/sexists. Of course, the mismanagement of new talent I suppose is RT's fault. I dunno, it was a slow decline, and the landscape of the internet has changed.

I'm fairly sure they both live in Austin, if it's the video I think you're talking about, it was impromptu, and Geoff originally seemed to indicate he wasn't gonna be in it.

Haven't watched since I unsubbed years ago, but it's still sad to hear. I got into them around 2013 and fell completely off after Burn left. I didn't necessarily dislike the new additions, but a lot of the content was missing that "friends dicking around" aspect.

Rip Funhaus though.

I only watched Red Vs Blue. I enjoyed The Blood Gulch Chronicles and have them on DVD. Didn't really feel the same to me when the story went beyond that so I didn't really keep up with it after that.

I was a big AH fan for much of the golden years. I used to eagerly look forward to their next video. Over time however, things changed. At first, they did it for fun, having a good time and all. Then it turned into a business obligation and the passion just wasn't there anymore.

Ray left. Jeremy left. Geoff did his own thing. The controversy with Ryan. The only ones from the original crew left were Michael, Jack, and sometimes Gavin, and even they were MIA for long periods of time. The kids they hired to replace them just weren't the same.

The final straw for me was their alleged treatment of Kdin. That really broke my heart. It's hard to even go back and watch old videos, knowing that.
Shut your BF28/9 sound hole and listen up.

Worth mentioning: RWBY's season 9 (their last season, maybe?) became free on that website like 2 weeks ago.
It was a Crunchyroll exclusive for a full year until March 30, I believe.

The only thing I ever remember from Rooster Teeth wasn't even video game related.

It was a video of two of their guys eating ghost peppers around the time it was named the world's hottest pepper (so 2007-ish?) and the one guy just shoved the entire pepper in his mouth like it was nothing. And then looked like he'd been punched in the face about 2 minutes later.

I got into them very late, around 2018-19. Never got into RvB or RWBY. For me it was Achievement Hunter and Let's Play. I hope they keep the YouTube stuff up, but don't have much hope. I like it for background noise while I work.

Same. Without Burnie the crew didn't have the right chemistry for me. Not too uncommon of an opinion either, since a lot of people stopped tuning in after he left. Doesn't surprise me Rooster Teeth is closing

I was only an Achievement Hunter fan and never cared about the rest of the RT umbrella, and I unsubscribed from them years ago around the pandemic when they started feeling more like streamer content, which is not something I typically enjoy. I get why they pivoted to that but I missed the "friends fucking around, just happened to be recording" type of vibe they had. And looking at how their views had started cratering I wasn't the only one.

R.I.P. tho
I'm far from high end, I just know what suits me.
