That depends. My NAS runs it, I develop on it at work (though the VM is RHEL 8 unfortunately), Im currently trying to plan out a bigger badder DIY NAS build for TrueNAS Scale and ZFS, plus Im deciding on what mini-PC / appliance I want to buy for a Proxmox box so I can spin up a Debian VM for all my Docker containers and move them there off my NAS. Im debating on virtualizing Opnsense or buying a second box for that.
All that being said, my desktop runs Windows mostly because of modding, as I cant be arsed to setup the WINE bottles for mod managers, save editors, etc., and there is some Windows only software I use.
