Very first thing that came to mind when I read the subject line.
Your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for kung-fu treachery!
Another one I thought of was in Armageddon where the guy got blasted off the asteroid to his death and we saw a cut to him screaming in his suit.

I thought about the grandma who sacrificed herself by pushing a boat with her family in it through acidic water.

Edit: Oh, that was Dante's Peak after all.
Without truth, there is nothing.
It's kind of funny that TWO volcano-related movies released a couple months apart in 1997.

Hollywood needs to go back to making natural disaster movies.
