Many of us have had the invincible opponent dream. An enemy pursues you relentlessly and he/she/they are completely immune to all of your offense.

I had a dream about being pursued by one such adversary, a werewolf. Specifically, it was the shitty kind from old movies where it's just a hairy elf with fangs.

He relentlessly attempted to break into my house, then pursued me to a drive-in theater where I managed to hide in the bed of a pickup truck. Finally, I stood up and he spotted me. When he closed in on me, I became semi-aware of the fact that it was a dream because I decided to "cheat" and give myself a baseball bat that I didn't previously have. No effect.
Oh, I didn't mean a bat. I meant a shotgun.
Bang! No effect.
I meant a shotgun with silver buckshot.
Bang! No effect. He clawed me, but I pulled away before he could bite me. I pulled a bazooka out of nowhere -- the same one that I used to kill the shark from Jaws in another dream -- no effect.
I shouted out, "I can't stop hiiiim!" Then I realized I was paraphrasing Star Fox 64 and it gave me an idea. I dodged a lunge from the werewolf and he landed in a mine cart. (We were now in a cave despite being nowhere near a cave earlier.) He chugged along in the minecart involuntarily as it took him down the wrong track and into a powder room. I pushed a button and blew up the powder room with the werewolf inside.

So, if you ever find yourself in a dream with an adversary that you can't beat, try and trigger a video game cutscene where you win. <_<
