Not downplaying it, just constantly reminding that the U.S. has minority groups that could be oppressed (or being oppressed currently) as well.
We got states over here banning and burning books. George Takei from Star Trek wrote a graphic novel that was educational and that got banned enough for me to even know it existed, and you're going to tell me that I should
not
vote for Biden over something that is happening in a country half way across the globe (and ignore that religion is scarily stepping over the line in the country I currently reside in).
