Mine is that Princess Zelda in OoT got a full set of dick and balls when she became Sheik. No statement from Nintendo is gonna convince me otherwise. It doesn't make sense for her to only go halfway with it if she was going to be living as a man for 7 years.

BG3 got too much of a free pass for all the issues it had at launch, especially when considering it spent 3 years in early access

FFXII is one of the worst final fantasy games

Death Stranding might be the worst AAA without bugs out there

Otacon is a poorly-written, self-insert

God of War 3 was the worst one in the original trilogy

besides some content, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 might be on the same level as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Yakuza/Like a Dragon is a consistently "meh" series, where Yakuza 2 is probably the best one (haven't played Yakuza 6, though)

The worst things about Sonic 06 was the ball puzzle, weird story, and the loading times. Otherwise it was a perfectly good game.

It came out around the time that glitches were still a "fun" quirk to mess around with, and in my experience barely got in the way of the game itself.

Yeah, the castle hub world and medieval lore didn't do it for me. I feel like if they tweaked the enemy design and called Quake Eternal, I would have liked it more.

Characters that are dependent on critical hits (a.k.a. rogue class) are inferior to tanks/fixed DPS. Better to have the certainty of knowing how much damage youre going to cause rather than just hoping for the best.

Mass Effect 3: The extended ending was fine and satisfying enough. I feel like people who complain about lack of seeing the result of your choices throughout the trilogy have been skipping/sleeping through the story during the game itself.
Also, Paragon Control is utilitaristically the best possible ending, both at that moment and long-term.
Also also, the indoctrination fan theory is silly and even more ridiculous than the original ending.

Silent Hill: The Room is the best of the series.

Metal Gear Solid 4: The first two acts were easily the best part of the game and pretty much the sole reason why I replayed it at all. Although I was initially turned off by the active warzone atmosphere, I eventually grew to love how expansive the possibilities were of being able to move your way through and influence the battle, or just ignore all that and sneak your way past the battlefield entirely.
The final boss fight however was barely mediocre at best and mostly just memberberries. It wasnt even half as exciting as any of the final boss fights of MGS 1, 2 or 3.

Doom 2016 was a perfect mix of classic and modern. From beginning to end it felt like you were playing Doom. Hell was still just Hell and the Doomslayers origins were not important.

And Im not gonna lie, part of my enjoyment of the game was cause it had kind of a Metroid Prime feel to it as well. Like Metroid Prime only realistically violent.

while both great games, Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire > Divinity Original Sin 2.

the former has the more interesting world and story, and its basic mechanics (turn-based mode, at least) somehow feel inviting.

I do really dig DOS2's chaotic feel, though, and idk if any turn-based RPG is as engaging when it comes to combat.

I meant more, like, he's a bad guy in the other games, but not necessarily the bad guy.

and I won't say the previous games necessarily had nuanced characterizations of Kratos and the others, but there was more supporting his motivations, but in part 3, it felt like there was more of a hurry to get from parts a to b.

FINE!!!! I think ppl take QoL too far. I can walk five centimeters in a game but if there isn't a quick travel that is too much time wasted. There. That's what grinds my gears. Walking a short bit in a game.

After I was done playing the hell out of phantasy star online episode 1 and 2 (which eventually got ported to the og xbox, which means I can just start over on the box version), I traded in my gamecube for a OG xbox and never did regret it. I was still able to play some of those post-traded in gamecube via my brother's own gamecube like double dash (which I thought was eh), eternal darkness (it was ok), and tales of symphonia (not going to lie, it was nice), but maaaan did I play the hell out of that og xbox.

Unreal championship 2 man with that crazy bullet reflect system (that juicy feel when you manage to reflect someone's quad damage flak cannon alt fire, triple rockets, or a sniper round)....nothing like it.

To Madd Dogg many older games blow. I think Bayou Billy is the least of the culprits, but some of this fast travel does the "ruin mah immersion." That was a thing once right. I used to play Digital Devil Saga 1 and listen to Sports Radio. It was a odd thing but I could be informed on the sports world and not have to be bothered by VA or family sometimes lawl. People view immersion in different ways.

Like, there definitely was a lot of poop in those days, but even the older generations' greatest I feel a lot of gamers tend to overrate certain aspects about the classics. I also agree that I don't see what the beal deal is with complaining about fast travel.

Since its fresh on my mind one of the things you will see some people complain about is modern fighting games and their adding new fighters to seasons. You shitting me, modern fighting gamers got it made....I much prefer the season approach (or waiting until the ultimate edition comes at a cheaper price and you get every single DLC add-on in one go. Like with me and tekken 7 with everything for like, 10 bucks) compared to that shit in the before times where like 6 different versions of street fighter 2 came out full price. Like what, 4 different guilty gear X2s? If a fighting game had unlockable characters like with tekken 3 and battle arena toshinden 3 then maybe if you are lucky 2 or 3 of them actually is bosses or something with unique movesets, but most of those fuckers were just clones. Poor arcade versions be liking console-only extra characters, unless the arcade got another re-release that added new console characters......in japan only somewhere.

My brother and my best friend, I'll forever have these two dude's backs and they are my homies for life, but I swear when our random discussions turn to video games and I got to hear about how great and amazing and how nothing in gaming will ever match final fantasy 6 so help me god.

OoT was an okay 3d Zelda game, it's not even the best Zelda game on the console it was released on. Not saying it's a bad game, just that it's grossly overrated.

It's honestly more interesting as a speedrun game these days if I'm being honest, since it has a lot of cool skips you can implement.
