The thing about that movie is that it quickly turned into a story that wasn't even about the dead babysitter anymore.

It was kind of like a cross between blank check and home alone but without the extreme stupidity parts required to have those plots happen in the first place.

I never saw it, but I seem to remember that Animaniacs once took a potshot at it by mentioning that the studio's latest Warner-Siblings-induced fiasco had been worse for them than that movie.

Makes me wonder if perhaps, in some alternate Roger Rabbit -esque world where cartoon characters exist alongside humans, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot would make better executives for Warner Bros. than David Zaslav is here.

Dune's original source is another medium so it's an adaptation. Remakes typically are only involved with the same original source (such as Don't Tell Mom or when a foreign film gets an American version or in the case of video games Resident Evil 2 Remake, etc)
