Its supposed to be rehabilitation to return to society.
It isn't allowed, technically. There are people in this topic that seem to believe in prison justice, so they want more punishment than what the persons sentence entailed, usually meaning violence.
Ultimately it is up to the guards to be diligent and maintain good order and discipline among the prison population. Any violence that does happen should be addressed promptly and usually is.
It should be, but US prisons in reality are mostly about punishment and using prisoners as slaves for free labor.Yeah, and some of the people in this topic are fine with that, which is fucked up
Mass Murderers
Child rapists/abusers
Torturers
Animal cruelty scumbags
Some specific examples where the criminal blatantly got way too light of a sentence (though usually those seem to be cases where they get no prison time at all just community service or home confinement or such, so even "prison justice" isn't on the table)
For the above, yes. For anyone else, no (which includes Danny).
We're never going to get prison reform as long as people keep defaulting to "prisoners are subhuman."We're never getting prison reform as long as its a legal form of slavery for the State and the State can force these people into labor.

And that's before you get into the for-profit prison system that would neuter and rebuke any changes
* splits the poll into two options*Youve been hostile to everything regarding prison violence and even made jokes about it
link to some prison reform organizations or close the topic ffs
Prison shouldnt be about punishment.
If I were to try to dumb it down, it's like if someone cut me off in traffic and then I saw them get pulled over. Dealing with cops is f***in awful, but I would be lying if I didn't feel a little bit of karmic schadenfreude.
