Have you or someone else ever been "asked to resign"?

I've applied at jobs where they ask you if you've been fired or "asked to resign", and I always thought wut lol.

Every job that I've had, when someone is fired, they're fired. But I wouldn't know if someone is asked to resign unless they tell me.

I've seen it happen. A high ranking employee in the company I work for was messing around with several women. One day his wife came in and started a fight with one of his mistresses. He was asked to retire, and he did.

I haven't personally, but I have to assume someone else has at some point.
