I'd likely go with Denmark or Ireland.
The food here is terrible. My steak was so tough it attacked my coffee and the coffee was too weak to defend itself.

Id bust my ass to learn the language and culture. Whenever ive traveled to other countries im always very much aware that im a guest and they dont have to do jack shit to adapt to my dumb American ass, so yeah id be on Rosetta Stone and reading a lot of Norwegian history and information books.

Maybe a Spanish speaking country in Columbia or some other place the US dollar is strong after liquidating all my assets.

Probably Ireland. Canada is too car dependent, USA is lol, Australia and New Zealand are too far from many of the things I love and I don't speak other languages. Assuming I had time to learn other languages, Netherlands, with Germany and Switzerland also being in the running.

Well, if America goes full-fascist (the major scenario where I envision being forced to permanently leave), they'd probably threaten to nuke any country that would refuse to turn over American refugees, so I guess it wouldn't really matter where I went.

Im from the U.S. and this is tough. I was in the Navy and travelled all over the world multiple times and there are sooooooo many awesome places I would live.

Italy would probably be my top choice even though I dont know the language.

Australia would be an easy transition with language but it can be a bit warm for my tastes on temperature.

A not so common answer you probably wouldnt expect to see is Bulgaria. I was so impressed when we went there. Very nice, very clean, just a wonderful place.

I could name legitimately like 30 places I would gladly live.
