It would be better to load the player into a tiny area with a few example light sources and then have the ability to adjust in the game environment.
This is no where near comparable to video games' extremely poor sound mixing and tiny text font size...Video games usually do ok with mixing. It's movies that eff it up. I gave up years ago and just watch with subtitles these days because I got sick of oscillating the volume up to hear people talking normally and then suddenly a gun goes off and wakes up the entire town.
