While it isn't illegal in your neck of the woods, the extreme difference of life experience is gross to me. Glad it worked out, but otherwise I would hate hearing anything about that if I was a parent to that situation.
My parents had already disowned me at that point so they really didnt get to have a say.
We both knew it was fun and comfortable diversion that wasnt going to last forever and thats exactly what it was. If anything, I took advantage of her more than she took advantage of me. I was broke at the time.
