Any video games that can scratch the Dune itch?

So I, like many others, am super into Dune right now because of Part Two recently releasing. Seen the movie twice already, and Im in the middle of reading the book. To put it simply, I have Dune mania.

Now are there any video games I can play that can scratch that Dune itch for me? Doesnt even have to be exactly from the universe, just something similar.

Any popular mods for modern games, or just games with a similar feel to the series? Game genre doesnt really matter to me (for the most part)

I was thinking maybe Fallout mods or Mass Effect, but would like to hear some more ideas of anyone has any, open to anything.

It may sound like an odd selection, but I would suggest Elden Ring if you have not yet played that.

Its much different from the Dune universe, but there are some elements that I think you may enjoy. I myself am obsessed with Dune right now as well.

There's a bunch of Dune video games. Dune 2 on ms dos is the best one.
It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha."

homeworld: deserts of kharak
just another freak in the freak kingdom
Oh also definitely check out Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager. Those games are basically D&D but in Dune.

maybe The Technomancer, for some of the aesthetic.
Don't you agree, Zach?

I saw that lol.

That was the best Dune adaptation, unfortunately. Or very fortunately.

Dune: Spice Wars (4X/RTS, Released 2023)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1605220/Dune_Spice_Wars/

For older game, we have Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune (RTS). Another is Frank Herbert's Dune, a 3rd person action/stealth game and the first Dune.
Play the RTS. Battle for Arrakis
Dube 2000 > Dune Spice Wars.

Spice wars is Unity quality and no narrative at all. 2000 has Horse Ordos and pretty solid acting for its time.

Dune Spice Wars is the most modern interpretation of a Dune video game, both heavily inspired by the recent movies and not. It plays like Northgard/a 4x lite.

the entire game is in the vast desert where a lot of "nothing" happens

that game isn't as good as starcraft

if TC has already played starcraft that's a different story but if he hasn't i think we all need to stop pretending like command & conquer and Dune games are as good

Dune. There was one just called Dune and there was Dune 2000.

Wait a minute, I recognize that screen from Dune 2000. If that is Dune 2000 then what was the second game I played?

Westwood Studios made Dune II and Dune 2000.

Edit: To make more confusing. Dune and Dune II both released the same year, but Dune was made by Cryo Interactive.

The Dune Spice Wars games, it's a strategy game similar to Northgard. I have a bit a love hate relationship with this one but it may be what you're looking for.

Also I think funcom has an upcoming Dune game. I don't really know what to expect but I've put literally thousands of hours into the conan exiles rp scene so I'm pretty excited about this game.

A new dune game is actually coming out soon, but I don't remember it's name. It's either an mmo or a open world game single player game. I'm not sure which

To make it even more confusing...
Cryo Dune was released on Sega CD as Dune.
Dune II was released on the Genesis as Dune II... except in NA, where it was renamed Dune.
So Genesis Dune and Sega CD Dune are two totally different games.

It's just too safe and shallow. It looks pretty, runs great, has a very decent presentation and clean UI/UX. All the makings of a foundation that doesn't seem to offer much of anything in regards to even middling players in the 4x/rts genre. Way, way too shallow and that conquest mode they added in is so half assed. Dark Crusade did a better planetary conquest like 20+ years ago and no developer has bothered to replicate the formula of actually being able to win or lose territories, or allowing your fortifications and defenses to be persistent between occupation fights. It's so lame to basically just disguise a skirmish mode on top of a map with really weak mutators and modifiers.

I'll stop rambling. It just could have been so much more.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps has a pretty cool desert area with a sandworm boss. Only one part of the game, and not actually Dune, but feels very Dune-inspired.
The owls are not what they seem.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, my top two choices to check out and play are Dune 2000 and Dune Spice Wars. I'll go for the remastered 2000 version of Dune 2 since the original seems a bit too old for my liking. Dune Spice Wars looks a lot like Civilization V, which I liked so maybe I'll give that one a shot too (plus it's the most modern one).

I am very curious what you mean by this. I am a huge SoulsBorne fan myself, played all 3 Dark Souls games and Bloodborne multiple times, I own Elden Ring but haven't started it yet since I was kind of waiting for the DLC to come out first before diving in. What specific elements do you mean that remind you of the Dune universe? I don't mind spoilers.
Bump
sable? maybe, idk. idk why I'm posting another game in this thread when I know nothing about dune besides sand.

but sable takes place in a sandy area and has a cool artstyle. the game itself is kinda average tho. still fun.

honestly this looks pretty cool, on the steam spring sale too so I might give it a shot
Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight seems to take a bit of inspiration from Dune.

There was a Mad Max game a few years back. Was good but went under the radar.
Don't tease the octopus, kids!
One more bump, curious about that Elden Ring/Dune connection more than anything, wanna know what was meant there about those shared elements
