Is Legend of Dragoon worth playing?
Ya
Common sense says it may not taste good, but it'll make a turd.

Why is it that he can hit a 3rd baseman on a frozen rope from 300 feet away, but he can't hit a 12 foot tall catcher from 60 feet 6 inches away?

Most definitely.

It's one of the best games from the PS1 era and is on par with FF7.

Furthermore, The GOP is a Fascist Organization and must be destroyed
Its definitely not on par with FFVII.

But its still a fun game with a great battle system.
Sir Markham pointed out, drinking another brandy. "A chap who can point at you and say 'die' has the distinct advantage".
I never played it.
But I watched at my friends house back in the day.
It looked cool and I never heard anything bad about it.
It might be a hidden Gem.

Go for it!!

The battle system is fun. The random encounter rate is awful. The story isn't great. The voice acting is bad.

I bought the game when it was brand new but eventually sold it because I either got bored of it or was at a point in time where I was either disinterested in video games or just needed money. I wish the game would get a remake.
Without truth, there is nothing.
It's definitely a game everyone should experience

It's one of my favorite battle systems.

It has some janky qualities, but overall, a pretty fun adventure. The soundtrack is also fantastic.

its probably one of the most overrated games on gamefaqs. It was barely worth playing back when it was new.

It is LOOOONG, and its no where near as good as dozens of other rpg classics from the ps1

Fantastic game. Criminally overlooked as it's not gotten any kind of remake, prequel, sequel, any kind of love from Sony since its inception. It is a bit rough around the edges in areas, so unlike a lot of games that don't really benefit much from a remake other than fancier graphics, LoD could really shine if brought into the modern age with love.

At least it got a port for modern consoles. It had some QoL additions like rewinding, save states and trophies.

If you like ps1 rpgs then play it. I remember thinking it was pretty generic.

Ahh, haven't heard it for awhile. I only needed a bar and could whistle it from memory. My fave is probably this one, though:

There's a translation patch iirc. It makes the game a bit better.

English version is quite kiddified

Ah. I didn't know it got even that much. The only thing even approaching some consideration I knew about was Dart was at one point going to be potential DLC for PS Battle All-Stars whatever the hell it was called. But even that didn't happen.

I dunno if it's underrated. It's also not overrated. I think it's properly rated. PSX JRPG fans know it's pretty cool, but you shouldn't go out and buy a PSX to play it.

Personally I love LoD, but I think most of your enjoyment is entirely dependent on whether you think the addition system is cool or not. If you think it's aggravating or tedious, then the rest of the game won't cover it up.
