Talent in the wrong ways?

What does that even mean
Everything but the vocals is cool?
You gonna do something or just stand there and bleed?
The popular opinion about Rush is to not have an opinion about Rush.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
Like, I hate that metal western band for copying Metallica
vocal wise, of course
volbeat, thats it
You gonna do something or just stand there and bleed?
They got these lyrics about how trees are talking to each other and how different sides of your brain works, or outerspace bullshit.

Yeah your opinions are really terrible dude

Rush is quite possibly the most accessible prog rock band in existence lmao. Go listen to Dream Theater if you want an example of a band that has 'talent in the wrong ways'.
Whoa
Dream Theater has nothing to do with Rush.
Geddy Lee is a great bassist

Everything from 2112 to Moving Pictures is fantastic. After that it's a slow falloff. (There's some good stuff on the first few albums too but I wouldn't call any of them as good as that streak they have once they really get going though)

What about the voice of Geddy Lee
How did it get so high
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy
She took pity on me, horizontally, but most likely because of my band

Dream Theater is full of exceptionally talented musicians that make mostly boring music. This is not an uncommon opinion.

uncommon if you like being wrong, I guess.

There's a current sound alike band called Crown Lands who had the same producer who worked on those albums. Their last album sounds alot like 2112

Geddy's vocals are unique and great. Can't imagine g]how anyone could dislike a song like Closer to the Heart or Time Stands Still.

as a fan of Dream Theater

most of their discography is soulless wankery

Honestly, most of their most fun stuff is their wanky stuff. A lot of their 2000s material on albums like Octavarium and Train of Thought where they tried to dial it back and sound more like contemporary bands that petrucci and portnoy like is their most soulless and boring.

Rush rules. Dream Theater is all the way up their own asses, (and their lead singer sounds like shit).
It is impossible to live in the past, difficult to live in the present, and a waste to live in the future.
(He/Him).
I love Rush but "they sound great until the singer dude comes in" is a sentiment I've heard many times

In a similar vein, I'm not super familiar with Dream Theater but from what I've heard, their singer is kinda below the others as far as technical proficiency goes

Dragonforce's current singer is shit compared to the old one. And I don't even like Dragonforce.
The world may be going to Hell, but I am personally awash with convenience.
It took me for goddamn ever to like Tom Sawyer. And even now, I still only tolerate it. But the rest of Moving Pictures helped make it go down easier.

A few listens of Fly By Night on repeat were what really sold me on them as a group I wanted to listen to a lot more of, and by the time I backtracked to 2112 and Caress of Steel, I was solidly on the bandwagon.

It's definitely an acquired taste that's developed through exposure, though, and a ton of people aren't going to have the endurance for getting to that place.
