Why do they say self check out is a scam?

I actually get the single biggest value available to humans - time. But like I said, please go ahead and waste 15-20 min. in a line so you don't give the big bad companies free labor. No skin off my back.

I usually buy over $200-$300 in groceries in a trip so even self check out is going to take a long time for me.

Again, why not consider all shopping unpaid labor, then?

And I absolutely get value from scanning as I go and walking out the door in 30 seconds after I'm done. I also have value in knowing I bagged my items correctly as I was shopping. I also have value in not having to interact with anyone.

If you have the scan as you shop sure, but getting a huge buggy full of heavy things having to unload and scan them all then bag and rebuggy them by yourself can be very annoying imo. It would be nice if they offered a discount or something.
