I have had stores give me ious before, and I have had employees help me shop.
That isn't what she asked you.
An IOU slip doesn't magically save you the money you wasted driving down to the store to find it out of stock. She asked you about the time and gas you wasted driving to the store to find the item you wanted not there forcing you to drive back up there.
An IOU/rain check doesn't change that beyond guaranteeing you a possible sale price.
Since we are complaining about "unpaid labor."

Even if I entertain some bagger asked this of you most of the time (I doubt it), you still took shit to your call the rest of the time.
