grocery stores sell most of their shit at a 300-500% markup. Theft is included in shrink which is part of any major stores budget, and the vast majority of it is employee theft and damaged or otherwise unsellable/expired product.
but either way, shoplifting and employee theft are nothing compared to how much money big companies steal from their own employees every year
