Berseria was my first Tales game, and I liked the combat better in that one. I liked the characters more as well. I just didn't like Arise too much.

I wanted to like it, but the bloated HP on bosses, bland party members, and plot that goes from intriguing to boring to a total trainwreck kind of pushed me away.

In Xenogears I'd argue that it may have been for the better. But yes, Arise falls the fuck off in the second half, particularly the last 1/3. Anyone play the DLC?

The unstaggerable damage sponge bosses kinda ruined the game for me.

I put the game on Story mode just to power through the last dungeon cause I was over it at that point and still ended up dropping it.

Felt like the combat was too flashy, way too much happening on screen, I lose sense of everything.

I eventually set everyone to auto and just used the combo attacks whenever they light up. I beat the game playing like this.

Its now free on gamepass and I downloaded it. Haven't played a tales game since vesperia but I'm interested to see the new combat system at least. I hope its...decent.
I wouldn't trust this company with making a cheese sandwich, they'd start an additional kickstarter for the mayo -ssjmatthew on Comcept's MN9

It's okay but loses its luster after a while.
How can the moon landing be real if the moon isn't real?
