Launch library is trash. Wtf is pilot wings lmao? And not even a new Zelda. A device purely designed around a gimmick. What was Nintendo thinking?

This topic also comes in Wii and Switch flavors, just switch out Pilotwings with Wii Sports/1-2 Switch and a complaint about Skyward Sword being bad/Tears of the Kingdom being derivative

3DS killed nintendo for me 10 years

bought the zelda model at launch. loved it for the month i had it. then it bricked. nintendo wanted $100 and me to send it in for repairs. couldnt hack it at the time

:(

bought my switch in like 2020 and loved it tho, even tho its a dust collector. botw1 was fun for a bit. replayed the RE series on the go too it was awesome. re-100%'d hades too

unfortunately it was kinda a bonehead move of me since i dont like nintendo games really. lmao

but i still dont regret it

But yeah. I waited to get a 3DS until 1. the library improved, and 2. the Flame Red model became available.

Luckily, both had happened by that fall, and I pick it up. Sadly, because of this, I missed the Ambassador offer (but I didn't have money for a 3DS at the time, anyway).

Imagine wasting valuable dev time and money and a straight up dedicated button for "3d". Instead of I dont know, maybe an analog stick instead? Hell, would have begrudgingly taken a second circle pad if nothing else

The 3D option on the 3DS wasn't a button. It was a slider on the side of the top screen.

When it was turned down enough where it was just barely on but didn't split the visuals for the 3D effect, it did gave games this super clear, crisp look.

I never really cared about the 3d feature. I'd turn it on for a minute or two in each game, pretend to be awed, then switch it off again to end the eye strain. I did play the hell out of several 3ds games though. And I loved the themes and badges.
