https://www.cbsnews.com/news/democrats-dont-want-biden-to-run-again-poll-analysis/

This source says 69% of democrats DON'T want biden to run again.

A majority of democrats. An overwhelming majority of democrats. And that poll is a bit old, too lazy to find more recent data but I swear I saw that number climb over 70% recently.

And yet, he is being forced upon us. The DNC is such a powerful machine the will of the people doesn't seem to even matter.

Same on the republican side. Things are stacked so heavily against Trump's opposition they never were given a fair chance or even debate against trump.

I occasionally hear talk about a free an open election system here. On paper that's true. Anyone can file and run for president. But the machines in place are the kingmakers and they are the ones deciding who gets to run, we only decide who to vote for.

Sad.

He's only being forced on us because you, the American people, voted him in. There were tons of other candidates but this is the guy you (america) wanted.
Italian, French, German.
Rigged or illusion of choice. He was supposed to be the transitional president. But here we are..
Above all things, never be afraid. The enemy who forces you to retreat is himself afraid of you at that very moment.
Just don't vote. Just don't do it.

In the time it takes you to vote, you could play three games of pool. THREE!

Now that's fresh.

People are literally voting for him in the democratic primaries.

What a dumb fucking topic.
Rage is a hell of an anesthetic.
That isn't rigged. That is just there is only 2 parties and they can pick whatever candidate they want for whatever reasons but sure I guess you can argue that the primaries are rigged but does that really matter?
The larger issue if you want to make this point is people disregard third parties.

That's incongruent with national polling showing majority of people from both parties don't want him on the ballot

Not sure you're getting the gist of the topic here

If I offer you a plate of blueberries and you take the blueberries that doesn't mean you want blueberries. It just means you took the only option given.

No, the larger issue is neither party is willing to move on from their nursing home candidates.

99% confident newsom would win in a landslide over trump if Newsom had the DNC's blessing to run. Now he's going to wait 4 more years.

Democrats like to lose.

  1. They give us unelectable candidates that don't stand a chance. Biden is going to get crushed by Trump this time.
  2. Democrats are pouty crybabies. "I didn't want _____ so I just won't vote. Trump can just have it."
I say this as a Democrat.
I'm not here for friends. I'm here for the truth to the best of my knowledge of it, even if it's not what people want to hear.

This is the flawed two party system, which most of the western world has already figured out with coalition style governments but here we sit still using a concept dating back to the French Revolution, controlled by the wealthy and corporate America.
Get up, Stand up, Stand up for your rights!
Biden is a freaking puppet. Trump did harm, but seriously. I will not post here again.

I used to think this too

But party systems are unavoidable. Our constitution was built around not using them, which lasted all of, what, 3 election cycles? The alternative is individual voice which tends to get drowned out by the bulk of what ultimately becomes a party.

Coalition government is becoming closer. We nearly had to have a coalition house when the MAGA wing sabotaged speaker votes. Would have forced a moderate republican into speakership. Too bad that didn't happen.

Also the same national polls warned us that a red wave was coming in 2022, and that the Republicans were going to pick up seats in various 2023 elections.

How'd that turn out?

Biden IS a fucking moderate. Jesus fucking christ if you think the democrats are an extreme party.
Rage is a hell of an anesthetic.
*sigh* my actual last post but I wish Hillary Clinton won. I voted for Nader once and stopped caring. It's also why I don't discuss politics since I'm independent and such my vote wouldn't matter anyway. But Trump winning really didn't help the population at large.

So I suppose I'd rather just see the puppet win.

invalid comparison

Dobbs decision undercut the red wave

Not sure what will undercut november. The MAGA base will follow trump straight to hell. Getting convicted of major crimes only riles his (essentially anti-government) base.

The only elective instability will probably go at the local level as a top-down effect from nationals.

Another way your comparison isn't relevant.....most people don't want either candidate, so a result for either is a loss for democracy

He's known for both sides rhetoric.

Nevermind the fact that his justification for voting for Trump in 2020 was so he could afford a garage repair because his taxes would have been better.

It's not that it's rigged it's just a very flawed system whose rules are taken advantage of by people with money and influence.

Biden, under oath during a deposition, could not remember when his son died. Or the years he was vice president.

He may be a moderate but you need to wake up and realize he has "handlers" that keep him away from discussions not on a teleprompter. This is by design, not accident. Not comfortable with a president that has a staff pulling the strings.

He was a moderate before he lost his mind. This I will agree with.

She's politicking when she does that

In order to escape the primaries she can't be a full moderate voice or she'll disappear.

Which, incidentally, she's already doing unfortunately. That's why she's going on the offensive now but it's probably too late and it'll be biden v trump round 2, to the chagrin of essentially everyone.

Not at all, but it's largely outside the scope of this topic. Overall not a fan of seeing expansion of medicaid/medicare, universal health is a bad choice for a country this large (due to costs), poor immigration policy (none?????? Let everyone in??????? No plan???????), punish capitalists by taxing them to death, ignoring the free market by trying to regulate labor, so many things wrong.

The cherry on top is the most progressive wing abhors Israel, one of our very, very few allies in the region. Say what you will about Israel but having more friends is better than having fewer.

Of course you could equally fire back criticisms of right policies as well. You can also demonize "both sidzing" as you say, but I'm under no obligation to choose a side. I see too much fault with both to particularly care for either party.

The Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act does not "shut down the border."

Have you read the bill? Or any summary of it? Because what you said is definitely, for sure, 100% not in the text. You can't "get" me by woefully misrepresenting a bill.
