Kinda cheating with a few of these since some of them arent really the first in the series (SMB/Ninja Gaiden) and many originated in the arcade rather than the NES, but I think its safe to say the NES was where these series solidified themselves as industry mainstays.
Castlevania taking a substantial early lead
Morning bump.
Ninja Gaiden is the best.

  • Dope ass music
  • Dope ass cinematic cutscenes
  • Tiered powerups
  • Only platformer that let you jump off walls
  • Could backtrack, even though there was no reason to, the fact that you could was amazing.
  • Cool bosses
Only thing it doesn't do better than the other games on that list is the save system from MegaMan.
It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha."

Ah scratch that then. It's been so long since I played the original. Then NG is the best at everything from that list.
