So Persona 3 reload released a few days ago, and reactions of fans aremixed. It released without content that other versions had, so theres still no fully definitive version of the game with all content included.

The game itself tho is very faithful to its source material. Even too faithful according to a lot of posters here, which seems odd to me, considering the backlash towards FF7s remake, which many have deemed too different. It feels like Reload is the type of remake ff7 fans claim they wanted.

So CE, what do you want when a game youve enjoyed in the past gets a remake?

what capcom is doing. basically staying faithful to the og game but giving it today's mechanics. some small differences but nothing on what ff7 could potentially do.

i've accepted ff7 remakes could end up very different, and i'm getting rebirth and the next one day 1, but it's not what i was hoping for.

edit: maybe fleshing out of some cut/rushed content. like if xenogears got a remake, even if they only did a star ocean 2 level remake, we'd all want the disc 2 content to be done properly.

I want the definitive experience of a classic game. It modernized so it runs on the latest systems and has quality of life changes if they're required. New shiny graphics, but otherwise I want the same game it was. It's cool if they add some new optional dungeons or something, though.
Many Bothans died to bring you this post.
I also ask this because a poll on CE had ff7R winning as the better remake. Im just curious because it seems like what most people are describing here is closer to what Reload offers as a remake.

I do still kind of wish 7 remake looked the way it did, but was still turn based.

Good games don't need remakes, just re-releases.

eh i disagree here. Some games had systems born from hardware limitations, or that simply didnt age well.

A game being good upon release doesnt mean it cant become even better with a good remake, or even remaster

  • all previous DLC/add-ons folded into one version
  • updated control schemes
  • skippable cutscenes
  • modern graphics (with option to switch to OG graphics, like Grim Fandango did)
  • maybe some QOL stuff (fast-forward, no encounters, etc.) for games that actually need it

I also like the idea of fleshing out cut content, the things that were left out for time constraints that probably would've (or should've) been in there. I'm perfectly fine with this wonky FF7R attempt being a rough draft for the perfected Xenogears, haha.
