I say lee-chi but have heard lai-chi used. A quick Google seems to suggest that it's lai-chi in China and Vietnam (where they are native), but that Americans use lee-chi.

I can confirm that all the Vietnamese people I know, and I know quite a few because I live there, use lai-chi.

Same experience. I bartended in a Japanese restaurant back in the day and it mostly had Chinese servers and they always said lai-chee, but Americans usually say lee-chee.

At least in California, most people I've heard correctly say lie-chee. I have heard a few lee-chees, though, and I always do a double take.
