Remember when cereal commercials had their own overarching stories?

This topic partly inspired by the Saturday morning cartoons topic.

Remember the 3 bakers from the Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercials? They were together for years, then one day, Wendell, the eldest, went into a TV and went on a journey, along with "To be continued..." at the end. The other two bakers were written out afterward.

Then there were the Lucky Charms commercials, where Lucky brought in a new charm, starting with the brand new Red... something! What could it be?!

And of course, while not a cereal, the Energizer Bunny! It kept going and escaped its own commercial, and started travelling into other commercials! Where would he unexpectly show up next?

This might be a 2000s kid thing because I was kinda invested in the Lucky Charms commercials' plotline as a kid. I didn't even eat the cereal lol.

Also always wanted Apple beat Cinnamon for once in the Apple Jack commercials. I think he actually did once.

Only one I remember is Trix, where the rabbit would pull stunts to try to get a bowl. Not sure if he ever got one.

I feel that way when people talk about The Super Bowl.
People got so brain washed into say, but 'I like the ads.'

Ironicaly those ads have pretty much all become shit, because originality is all but dead.

So they marketed it as a poll. Very clever, probably had to buy a box or something to vote too. I somehow missed that.

Aww how sweet. Proof that cereal eaters are much nicer than comic book fans! When comic fans were presented with a poll (let jason live/let jason die) they opted to kill him!

Possibly, but I can't recall anything other than The Soggies constantly attacking.

Yeah, the Soggies. They even had a 2 or 3 part series of commercials where they beat them once and for all to phase them out.

I don't know if this is what you're remembering, but this is 5 commercials long and Cap'n gets captured by The Soggies. I barely remember these commercials at all. Only the 4th and 5th seem familiar to me.

Legitimately the songs got better as they went on, the phone commercial is a banger. Beautiful to see a band hit their stride!

In defense of voting Jason Todd to die, they shoehorned the character to replace Dick so badly, most of the characterization we know and love of the little goofball came near the end and you're asking comic fans to decide on status quo or cool new horizons by killing off the sidekick.

Shhh... you might give Hollywood ideas by bringing this up. They might try to bring it back in movie form... Cap'n Crunch assembles a team of Wendell, the leprechaun, the frog, cocoa krispies monkey, and Snap-Crackle-Pop to fight the Cookie Crisp bandit.

After credits scene features a foreboding view of Castle Chocula and then we see a glimpse of Franken Berry's hand moving with new life as we hear an evil laugh in the background.

I think I only ever saw that movie one time and it made me cry twice. First time was when Wolfman got blown up, because it was scary and disgusting, and the second time is when Frankenstein's Monster was saying goodbye.
