I heard about that. It was for a song right? I haven't seen the movie but I heard one of Barbie's songs on Spotify. The one where she says "what was I made for?" Or something like that

I assumed that song would get some award. Kinda fucked up that in a feminist power movie, the only character who gets an award is a man

It's weird but more a product of different categories being more competitive than anything. Supporting Actor, which Ryan was nominated in, is a lot less competitive than the Main Actress category, which Margo was eligible for this year.

Yeah there are a "bunch" of angry people who are trying to make some point about sexism, even though Margot Robbie making it in just means...some other woman doesn't.

Tom Cruise and the Director of Top Gun Maverick also weren't nominated last year.

I don't know why people are making so much of a big deal about this. The Best Actress category was very competitive this year, more so than the Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories. Supporting Actress is particularly weak, with only Da'Vine and Emily Blunt having been considered shoe-ins for it.

But I am not sure which of the five nominees should be removed to make way for her. Note that I have not seen The Zone of Interest yet. Tomorrow.

I was more upset that Alexander Payne was not nominated.

It was a stacked year and I personally think all of the nominee's for Best Actress was well deserved. I mean Leonardo DiCaprio didn't even get Best Actor nomination this year as well, but Lily Gladstone got nominated for Best Actress (which was deserved). Some people are thinking too much into it. Just be glad that Barbie is even getting nominated because the Oscars tend to have biases against movies that perform really well at the BO.

He's the most entertaining for me as a guy, but you gotta admit Barbie had a lot more range.

Sandra Huller was amazing in Anatomy of a Fall, so fingers crossed for her. As you can see it's quite a packed category and maybe Robbie just wasn't good enough.
