Are smiles still free at mcdonalds?

I had some McDonald's before work a couple days ago

while in the lobby waiting for my food, from the kitchen I could hear the manager screaming at her workers and at one point I heard her shout " I don't need you to remind me I'm an alcoholic! " at one of them

they did get my food out pretty quickly after that though
