Or is it just as bad as everyone says it is?
No. Play it on Netflix. Just came out for it
If you're on PC, it's probably better to just emulate it tbh.

Get the original versions on PC if you can. A few mods will give you an infinitely better experience.

I got them at launch and platinumed all 3, I think it's well worth it.

i think this is the most fun anyone has ever had playing the definitive version.
i started playing the San Andreas DE recently and ngl, it does look much better now.

altho i would still recommend the original, mostly cause they removed a lot of tracks from these new editions...
They're fine.

I never had many horrible experiences with it like many. I've had a few glitches that would have happened in the original games, and while that's not acceptable for a remaster, it wasn't the end of the world. The modern controls and other QOL improvements are very nice.

Some of the characters look goofy and it's missing some music, but my experience with it was mostly positive.

I still controversially contest that the old games were janky and people had high expectations for a game that was remastered by a mobile phone team.
People had high expectations for a game called 'GTA Definitive Edition' that was apparently so good that Rockstar felt comfortable withdrawing all previous versions of the games from sale.

Nobody forced Rockstar to farm out such an important and high-profile game out to a mobile developer that clearly couldn't handle it. They could've chosen to pay for the services of a developer that could handle it or take the project in-house and make sure it was done properly. They didn't and that's nobody's fault but theirs.

Not a fan of mobile gaming because I cant stand touch controls and I prefer playing a game on my 65 inch TV

Absolutely not, do not reward lazy remasters please
:)
Yeah, I looked into the Netflix thing, and they're only on the mobile version. I think only some of the games have controller support, and I don't feel like finagling with them so they might work .
