They already said we're getting the trailer for VI in December before this new announcement with a date. It's pretty obvious this is going to be for VIYeah, plus they already said, way back in 2022, that they were working on the next GTA game. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that whatever that is is bigger than DLC, and that this thing they're hyping up is, for sure, an actual next installment.

Rockstar would not be as damaged as Deep Sliver was from the Saints row reboot flopping but it still would break there reputation if its a game like that.
Im keeping my expectations very low in terms of what will actually be shown in the trailer, but literally all I want to see is if they were clever enough to use the VI (for 6) to also call it VICE. I'm 95 percent sure it's not gonna be actually called GTA 6. Not saying they're gonna be cheeky and it's gonna be GTA Online 2 or something, but it's gonna be subtitled instead of a numbered entry.
Not that it makes a difference but it's always weird to me when series bounce between subtitled and numbered titles for mainline entries.

When they announced it they said that's their next project after Starfield, and Starfield came out 3 months ago. Now that Starfield is out, they can go full steam ahead on ES6. MAYBE we'll get the first teaser trailer next year, and don't expect it to release another year or 3 after that.

well it shows her in prison, I have read that both protagonists are in the same gang and that one of the leaks said they will have a kid later in the story who might have an important role. I would assume either the kid gets abducted, or youre going to play as the grown up version of that kid to get some revenge.
