More than that, things need to change at the legislative level. Even the most upstanding cop in the world has to arrest you for something even if it shouldnt be illegal (though sometimes they have let them off with a warning leeway).

In my expierence rural cops ain't that bad. I've had one negative expierence with them. Usually they just wanna do nothing unless they gotta.

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and I was dressed the part so to speak. They thought I was a potential suspect for a break in. And they kept grilling me until another officer came across the radio saying they found someone in possession of break in tools. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. They just left without a word.

Actual suspect was black and as far as I know they didnr use any force let alone excessive force on him. Guy surrendered without a fight and they arrested him without a fight.

So thag said I think it's heavily based on the culture so to speak of that department.

It's the same way in prisons as a officer you adapt to how most officers do things at that unit. Like my unit just wants to keep the peace for the most part. We got a few hot heads but not many. Just had one quit cause he got wrote up for excessive force. And was under investigation which meant his job was on the line. Nobody blamed him. Dude spit in his face. But he was cuffed and policy is you can't use force if they are cuffed.

Some units are bad about it though. There is one I know of if they learn a inmate got transferred to them cause they assaulted a officer I hear they take em off camera and beat their ass.

Without police who'd arrest people for posting hurty content online? The moderators?
