Doesnt Thanksgiving have a pretty dark history? Maybe they dont want to feel like theyre paying homage to it.
Denying a person something they enjoy is not "helping them." No one wants to help you. Push them away.

Most of the controversy around Thanksgiving is rooted more in folklore than fact. The story of the Pilgrims and Natives is mostly window dressing and almost none of what we eat or do on Thanksgiving day has much of anything to do with what happened back in the 1620's.

I would love to. But last thing I want is to have a nice turkey dinner, then head out to work. Gonna have to settle for leftovers on Friday.

I don't eat a lot of meat in general. I guess you could count eggs-- I love deviled eggs, and my mom always makes a ton at Thanksgiving.
