Thousands of people, whether it's K-Pop stans or even average viewers want these K-Pop stars arrested or worse for watching the anime Made In Abyss and if you look on Twitter and other sites, some will be devoting their energy to make sure they won't have a career after this.

Welcome to society.

It's accused as a pedo anime.

Lol K-pop.

I've never watched MiA though. I know people swear up and down that it's good despite "the author's barely disguised fetish", but I'm not one for loli suffering.

Didn't like Black Bullet for similar reasons, though I watched that despite it probably being edgier-in-a-bad-way. MiA is more for its gore/horror moments or something.

Let me just say if you managed to jerk yourself off to that anime, then you have more concerning problems than pedophilia.

The author is highly likely a pedo who likely does sex tourism and the work itself frequently includes mostly naked children and / or gratuitous acts of violence against children.

It is still a really good story with rich world building, fun characters, and extraordinary art. But that doesn't mean the other stuff just goes away. People would be within their rights to find it offensive, but at the same time the parts of it that are good are often so good it's hard to just flat out reject the work, and I wouldn't automatically assume anyone who watched it must be a pedo.

That's a new one. I know the series has an ick factor, but this is a first.

Anyway, while the show has its moments, it never stood out as especially egregious. Naked children, but outside of the new main characters having a thing for each other i didn't notice anything else. Violence against children is pretty meh tbh. Not sure how that factors into this. Hmm

It's pretty hard to look past it even if the story is good, but I'm not gonna get up in arms over people that do look past it

All I know is that it's supposedly a violent show about kids getting fucked up, so I had no interest in adding that to my DVR when Adult Swim started airing it.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Terminally online Kpop fans are in a constant state of trying to get groups/members of groups they don't like (or are competition for their personal favorite group) cancelled over any random accusations they can throw at the wall, this isn't news

Is that a thing? Besides the sus stuff in the series itself, and the really sus stuff hes said in an (art book?), I dont know if hes suspected of anything specific. Its just that, if he was caught for possession of CP or something, everyone wouldve seen it coming.

That being said he did end up selling merchandise of himself as an acrylic stand, and I think thats really funny.

Don't take my word for it. These are the author's notes from various works he's done, and that's where I base my primary suspicions of him. He's never called himself a pedophile, nor has he said he flew to Malaysia for sex tourism, but well. That's the conclusion I arrive at when I read these author's notes.

Person might be a pedophile, but damn it feels icky to accuse them of child rape without further proof. Even the images are somewhat ehhhh without further context (like what these were written in)

Anime, and the culture has such a nasty habit of sexualizing minors, MIA never came off as a "pedo" show to me. Just gory!

I mean...unless it's straight up porn we as fans just seem to just "let it go." Trying to introduce someone to death note right now to get them off that stigma about the genre.

I've only watched the anime, I kinda got the vibe that the author might be into loli from the first season and the designs, but it never got so bad that I thought that much about it. Then i later saw the manga stuff and was like yeah that's his thing and they toned down all that in anime by a lot.

for what it's worth, i think the show is amazing, but god damn it's so brutal to children that it can be tough to stomach at times

Is there any actual evidence beyond "Made In Abyss is gross!" for this claim? Because it is one thing for an artist to make disturbing works, and quite another for said artist to be a criminal.

I've watch the anime and read the manga and they didn't really tone down much. The artist is definitely a lolicon, like he just straight up says so in his notes and end of volume author's notes. But that doesn't make him a child molester. This sex tourism stuff that other poster talked about is new to me.

Saw it on cn while it is violent for children protagonists it's category seems to me to be for the most part survival horror. Kinda like Lord of the flies or yellow jackets. I wouldn't call it cp.

It was okay quality wise over all.

It's fine, and it's been fine since like fuckin' 2017. This twitter pedo nonsense reminds me of how "we gotta protect the kids from pedos" thing cropped up on facebook all of a sudden. The difference is that one was mostly political manipulation of chuds by wealthier chuds, this is literally just the dumbest parts of twitter finally reaching critical mass.

Use to be. It was airing I want to say earlier this year.

I read it on the channel guide (or w/e it's called) lineup and thought, hey if Toonami is airing it, it must be a decent anime to check out. Haven't had the chance to actually watch it or check it out yet, but it was on my 'to watch list' until reading this topic.
