the only card one that matters is Slay the Spire

I'm more a fan of the card ones then the action ones.

Slay the Spire, Wildfrost and Monster Train are my favorite deckbuilder roguelikes. Hades wins in the action category.

Slay the Spire is among my top 5 games ever, I put like 1300 hours into it. I think it might actually be my most played single player game.
When money talks for the very last time, and nobody walks a step behind
When there's only one race, and that's mankind, then we shall be free
Azure Dreams is my favorite game of all time.

Hades, Rogue Legacy, Slay the Spire are great as well.
What are you waiting for? You're free.
Well, seems they made Risk of Rain Returns...

Seems like they just slapped what should have been free updates to the original Risk of Rain (they never delivered on all their Kickstarter promises then went to make 2), and just slapped a price tag on it and called it remastered.

If you read this signature, then that meant that I had control of what you read for 5 SECONDS!!
Binding of Isaac
Black Lives Matter. ~ DYL ~ (On mobile)
Enter the Gungeon
Darkest Dungeon
"You're made of spare parts, aren't ya, bud?"
Nethack and DoomRL.
Stone Soup, Samurai Bringer, and Across the Obelisk (the last one having several that are pretty close to interchangeable in the top slot).

And I wouldn't put Inscryption as a Roguelite. It has the first segment, yeah, but afterwards it's not really the genre at all. For instance, the second part is just the Pokemon TCG game for the GameBoy and neither it nor the third are really built around you ever losing (I would make the argument about that with the first one as well, but the bears kind of exist so yeah).

Called Kaycee's mod

I'm not super huge on them and mostly get pulled into some by a friend who is. My top 3 in no particular order are Monster Train, Gunfire Reborn, and Risk of Rain 2. Runner up to Hades but that one didn't quite click for me.

Roguelike/Roguelite: Hades or Binding of Isaac
Card: Slay the Spire

I don't know if I've played a straight roguelike for a long amount of time. Even Isaac has perma-unlockable progression, which is what defines like vs. lite.

I know about Kaycee's mod, yes. I just don't count mods as the actual game.

It's official now? Lol, that's pretty goofy.

And even then Kaycee's is fun, but not really anywhere good enough. What made the first segment of Inscryption so good was the natural puzzles in the environment mixed with the story, none of which is present in Kaycee's. So where Inscryption was a highlight for the year it still wouldn't be worth talking about over something like Across the Obelisk or Griftlands, or even lesser card roguelites like Slay the Spire. The gameplay just is nowhere near as good as the dedicated roguelites.

Honorable mention to Rogue Legacy and its sequel.

I'm fond of a lot of Indie roguelites you can play on Steam. In no particular order, I've played:

The Binding of Isaac (Mostly Rebirth and its expansions)
Enter the Gungeon
20XX and 30XX
FTL and Into the Breach
Rogue Legacy 1 and 2
Crypt of the Necrodancer
One Step from Eden

Rainbow Dashing: "it's just star wars"

This simple web game from a few years ago. Can't remember the name unfortunately.

Card version
Meteorfall: Journeys. It has the right amount of difficulty, luck and frustration. Slay the Spire looks interesting so probably that too.

It has been an effectively complete game for most of that. It's just how Roguelikes work, they are in development until the people making them die (and there is a good chance someone will pick them back up).

Does Darkest Dungeon qualify as a roguelite? It's more akin to XCOM in how you manage your team and their fates.

Rogue Legacy 2

Undermine is okay, not too great. I feel like the runs take quite a while.

I'm not really into roguestuff, but I did recently get World of Horror which is supposedly a roguelite, and I've been enjoying it quite a bit.

Many of them are not very well-balanced. They come off as lazy attempts to stretch out a concept instead of simply making a good one and done single player experience.
