He said because my pockets were so full its customary to tip a percentage of your ticket cost. I know I made him work a lot but paying 10 bucks for that?

Never. But during COVID everyone and their mother started trying to implement tipping culture into their line of work. Fuck that. Hopefully it rebounds into tipping culture dying.

People don't tip the security? These people aren't just bringing food to you, they may very well be saving your life.

Tipping culture has already allowed corporations to get away with not paying a fair wage. A line has to be drawn somewhere.

In both cases, that's literally their job. I'm not gonna act that they're fairly compensated for it, but that's an issue with their employer, it's not the responsibility of the customer.

Tip a security guard?

Is this satire?
You'll see motivational pictures about working hundred hour weeks/Well, it only applies to those who are operating at a really basic level
I'm sure I've seen this same '*insert worker* was mad I didn't tip' topic many times.

It's 10% for the security guard yes.

If you like the performance you also should tip 20% or more for the performer. Walk to the stage afterwards and leave your money on the stage for them to collect.

I went to a place In Detroit that you had to show ID to enter. There was a tip jar. A tip for checking my ID? Then there was a tip jar at the cash register too.

Idk if this story is fake, but new groups expecting a tip, and old groups expecting generous tips are definitely happening.

Ever since covid, more and more establishments are pushing tipping culture.

BS security does get tipped. Can you imagine the holdup for a concert if everyone sat there in line calculating their tips for the security guard as they went in?

What about me? I guard a factory, the workers arent tipping me

The only "tips" a security guard are getting are more like bonuses or giftcards. Like for instance my friend also in security got a big bonus check from a big shot lawyer because he does security for his neighborhood. Most I have ever got was a large boxed Thanksgiving Dinner.

This is a pretty funny topic.
